Short Vita
My name is Verena Tölle, and I'm 29 years old. I am German but live since 3 years as an author, journalist and copywriter in Portugal.
During the semester breaks of my (completed) Master's degree in Interdisciplinary Media Sciences (University of Bielefeld) , I traveled to Portugal. Immediately I fell in love with surfing and surf camps. A new project was born: "I did it my wave." The final surf camp stop for my book project was in Madeira, where I stayed for 6 months. After that beautiful time, I could no longer imagine a life working in an office in cold Germany.
In a semester break of my Master's degree in Interdisciplinary Media Studies (University of Bielefeld) I spend my holiday in a surf camp in Portugal. Immediately I fell in love with surfing and didn´t wanted to leave. I wanted to inspire more people to try out surfing in Europe. A new project was born: "I did it my wave. The best surfcamps and beaches in Europe." The final stop for my book project was at a surf camp in Madeira, where I stayed for 6 months on this outstanding island. After that, I could not see my future self living and working in cold Germany.
I decided to follow my dream: I am now living in Lisbon and dedicate my time to various writing projects. In between, there is plenty of time for some surfing and travel adventures, during which I always come up with new book ideas.

I am currently working as a German Language Editor Web & App Freelancer for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. I like to tell the personal stories behind the best athletes of the world.
